Mission Statement

The purpose of Greyhound Pets of America Emerald Coast (GPAEC) is to find responsible loving homes for Greyhounds, to acquaint the public with the desirability of Greyhounds as pets, and to provide information about the availability of Greyhounds for adoption.

Greyhound Pets of America, a racing neutral organization, was founded in 1987 for the purpose of finding good pet homes for ex-racing Greyhounds. GPA/EC, a chapter of Greyhound Pets of America, is a volunteer, not-for-profit corporation organized to educate the public of the value of retired greyhounds as pets and receive and process greyhounds from the Pensacola Greyhound Track for adoption.

Our Board of volunteers organizes multiple fundraisers and many events throughout Northwest Florida, and participates in other greyhound-themed events across the country when able.  Click here for Event & Program information.
